Thanks to Reverend Brooke Mitchell, St. Peter’s congregation has gone back to school. Each Sunday we are receiving meaningful lessons and exercises to help us understand the will of God – what it means and how to find it. Week one – get out and do something "Just going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car." G.K. Chesterton. But while you are ‘doing’ do not forget to listen to God.
Week two we were reminded to rejoice always; pray continually; give thanks in all things. We were actually tested this morning to see if we remembered!
Today, week three, we were challenged to talk to others about St. Peter’s, sit with someone we did not know well and ask if they have anything they would like us to include in our prayers this week. In Brooke’s words, “christian fellowship is different – make Jesus part of what you are doing – engage with others – widen the circle!”
All of this seems simple, easy to do on paper, but how many of us actively follow these basic Christian Guidelines? We welcome you to join us on the remaining Sundays in July as we journey to a deeper understanding of christian fellowship. You will enjoy the lessons – they are informative, a pleasure to follow and have a touch of humour. Thank you, Brooke!
