Dear cherished volunteers and peers,
As has been announced, our final day of operations at the HCK will be June 30, 2025. The City has arranged for the Salvation Army - Centre of Hope to hand out bagged dinners from July 1 to August 31, on weekdays, if required.
You have given numerous hours full of care and support since we began operations.
Know that you have made a huge difference and are very much appreciated. We have created a two paged document outlining the history and achievements of everything we have done. Our
FB page is full of photos of meals and memories.
The community of volunteers we have built is special and so we want to invite you all to stay engaged in our local food system. While we continue to work on a resolution, we invite you to consider shifting your energy to the
Campbell River and District Food Bank.
They are actively looking for volunteers for various day shifts. Executive Director Joanne Watson, who was the HCK Kitchen Lead, and Sandra Rushton are happy to provide Food Safe Level 1 training for all.

With heartfelt thanks,
The HCK Team
